The BONHEUR JEWELRY Brand Just Struck Gold

I had seen the name Bonheur floating around the internet during fashion week when international mega blogger Chiara Ferragni, aka Blonde Salad, proudly displayed her new jewelry finds. The pieces were modern, fun, and not overpowering to any outfit. The name alone was intriguing, and the designs were reminiscent of Jennifer Meyer’s clean cuts and playful charms. When I got to meet the sister design duo behind the brand, I was more than pleased. “It means happiness in French!” Ally and Albina Mataj told me over coffee at Bond St.’s signature outpost The Smile (ironic and fitting).
Ally and Albina bring a humbleness and positivity to their business and their designs. Having recently launched, the brand has built momentum selling through their website, and fashionistas of all ages have caught on: Chiara, Cara Delevigne, and Katie Holmes to name a few. Born and bred New Yorkers with European roots, these avid travelers take their worldly influences and love for art, and they channel that into Bonheur. “We travel non-stop, and every single country we go to we come back with a little bit of inspiration.” There’s an exotic flare to Bonheur, and their line ranges from Bohemian inspired colors and healing stones to contemporary art deco diamond cuts from 18K Gold and Sterling Silver. “We try and always keep in mind adding a downtown mix to everything we do.” Their design talent speaks for itself, but the love, passion, and positivity behind the diamonds and charms is what really strikes gold.
